Who runs this site
This site is run by Oliver Mann (the data controller). If you have any questions about your data, email oliver@shadowjournaling.com.
What is collected
Only what you actively give me through a form on this site:
- Your email address, and optionally your name, when you sign up to receive a free chapter, the Starter Kit, or the six week group waitlist.
- Any content you email me directly at oliver@shadowjournaling.com.
I do not collect payment details on this site. This site does use analytics and a marketing pixel (see below) to understand how the site is used and to measure ad campaigns.
Why, and the legal basis
Signups are processed on the basis of your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Direct emails are handled on the basis of legitimate interest in replying to you (Article 6(1)(f)).
Who processes it
Email signups are stored and sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), acting as a processor. The site is hosted on Cloudflare and Lovable infrastructure. Calendly is used, only on the /letstalk page, if you choose to book a call. Analytics and measurement are provided by Google (Google Analytics 4), Amplitude (EU region, including session replay), and Meta (Facebook Pixel).
How long it is kept
Your email stays on the relevant list until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Every marketing email includes a one click unsubscribe link.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your data, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email oliver@shadowjournaling.com and I will act within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Cookies, analytics, and pixels
This site uses strictly necessary local storage to remember basic preferences (for example, that you dismissed the cookie notice). It also loads:
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-7MKEWKMLSM), to understand aggregate site usage.
- Amplitude (EU region), including session replay, to understand how pages are used and to improve them.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel (ID 199046071256523), to measure and attribute ad campaigns run on Meta platforms.
These tools set their own cookies and may transfer data outside the EU under their respective safeguards. If you book a call via Calendly on /letstalk, Calendly may also set its own cookies, governed by their policy. You can block these tools using your browser settings, a tracking blocker, or your operating system privacy controls.
